VHF AIR BAND TRANSCEIVERS
IC-A25NE - IC-A25CE |
8.33kHz handheld radio from ICOM with premium features.
For expanded communication coverage, output power has been increased
to approximately 6 W typical (PEP)/ 1.8 W typical (carrier) compared to
the IC-A24E (5/1.5 W PEP/carrier).
Easy-to-Use Interface
Often used functions are assigned to the 10 keypad and you can directly access a desired function. The enlarged flat sheet keypad offers smooth and swift operation.
The 2.3 inch large, high contrast and high visible LCD displays user-friendly, graphic screens and ensures good readability under direct sunlight. The operating frequency in large characters can be recognized at a glance. In addition, the night mode option enables easy viewing in low light conditions.
Recall channel screen The IC-A25NE/CE stores the last 10 channels used. You can easily recall those channels by using the directional keys, the channel knoband the 10 keypad. This is convenient for switching between several channels, such as NAV and COM channels. In addition, you can freely edit (replace, delete, change order) the stored recall channels.
The supplied BP-288, 2350 mAh typical intelligent battery pack, provides up to 10.5 hours* of operating time. You can check the condition of the battery pack in the battery status screen. It is very useful for optimum charging and battery health maintenance.

IC-A120E ground-based panel-mount vehicle airband radio |
Ground
Support Airband Vehicle Radio
Icom’s IC-A120E ground-based panel-mount vehicle airband radio is the successor to the best selling IC-A110EURO airband transceiver. Aimed at airport ground crew vehicles, this new model features both 8.33kHz and 25kHz channel spacing, plus the latest noise cancelling and Bluetooth technology
200 Memory Channels with Channel Name
The IC-A120 has 200 memory channels to store often used
frequencies with 12-character channel name. With a high contrast
dot matrix display, operating channels can be selected quickly
and recognized easily. You can instantly program memory channels
without requiring PC programming.
Active Noise Cancelling
Built-in active noise cancelling reduces background noise to up
to 90% of the received signal and 30% in the transmitted signal.
In addition, The ANL (Automatic Noise Limiter) reduces
pulse-type noise such as an engine ignition. These functions are
effective in extremely noisy airport environments full of
aircraft noise.
Optional Bluetooth Unit
When the optional UT-133 Bluetooth unit is installed, the
IC-A120 can be used with a third-party wireless Bluetooth
headset. When used the optional VS-3 Bluetooth headset, the side
tone function is available for monitoring own transmitted voice.
Side Tone Function
When using a third-party headset with the optional OPC-871A
headset adapter, the side tone function allows you to monitor
your own transmitted voice via the connected headset. Even when
using a hand microphone, your voice can be monitored from the
headset.
IP54 Dust-Protection and Water Resistance
The IC-A120 has IP54 dust-protection and water resistance,
allowing it to be used in wet and dusty conditions.
Optional Speaker-Microphone, HM-217
You can pull the speaker-microphone close to your ear to listen
to received voice in noisy environments. The programmable
buttons (P1/P2) on the front panel can be used as a shortcut to
activate frequently used functions.
Convenient ON-Hook Scan Functions
The ON-Hook scan function automatically starts scanning when the
hand microphone is hooked on the microphone hanger. The ON-Hook
dualwatch function checks the priority and operating channels
alternatively while ON-Hook. When you take the microphone
OFF-Hook, the scanning stops at the priority channel or
displayed channel, according to the pre-programming.
Other Features
• 12- and 24-volt system compatible
• 8.33 kHz and 25 kHz channel spacing
• Side tone function with optional OPC-871A
• Priority scan and Dualwatch function
• Power on Password protection
• CI-V command for external control
• VE-PG3 RoIP gateway for interconnect with other radio systems
and/or other audio devices

IC-A220E ground-based panel-mount vehicle airband radio |
Operating information is clearly shown on the OLED display. The OLED (Organic
Light Emitting Diode) emits light from itself, so a display backlight is not
required. It provides higher contrast, wider viewing angle of almost 180 degrees
and faster response time than a conventional LCD. The IC-A220’s display has a
wide active area, operating frequencies’ characters can be maximized in the
display, while operating status can be shown on both top and bottom of the
display.
The IC-A220 has large switch buttons on the front panel. The most frequently used FLIP-FLOP (Frequency exchange) switch button is designed large enough to be pushed with ease. All switch buttons and knobs are illuminated with pure-white backlighting which are the same color as the OLED display.
The IC-A220 TSO version can be used as a primary VHF radio in general aviation (part 23) aircraft*. The IC-A220 TSO version is also accepted as an ETSO radio under the TSO/ETSO reciprocal acceptance policy.
The squelch sensitivity is automatically adjusted in accordance with the noise level to eliminate annoying background noise and unwanted signals.
The auto and manual squelch including squelch level can be quickly accessed with the Volume knob. The squelch test function temporarily opens the squelch and allows you to monitor signals.
The auto dimmer function sets display and key backlighting brightness. The IC-A220’s high sensitivity light sensor covers a wide illumination range.
By connecting to an external dimmer control system on the aircraft, the IC-A220’s dimmer function can be linked with the aircraft dimmer level. The external dimmer control can be used on either 13.8 V or 27.5 V electrical systems.
The IC-A220 has a built-in voice activated intercom function allowing the pilot to talk with the copilot via the headset. The IC-A220 has adjustable audio level and squelch control functions.
The IC-A220 has 20 memory channels and 20 history memory channels respectively. Often used memory channels can be instantly recalled. Group memory channels are organized into 10 memory channels by 5 groups (total 50 channels). Weather channel scanning function searches for weather channel signals.
The IC-A220 allows switching between 8.33 kHz and 25 kHz frequency steps in the menu mode.
* Use of 8.33 kHz channel spacing may be prohibited depending on country. You can remotely control the FLIP-FLOP (frequency exchange), intercom and recall switches via the rear panel connector.
As the TSO specifications require, the radio continues to work with the reduced power supply voltage.
To improve operability, menu items are divided into two modes, a settings menu and a configuration menu. Seldom-changed settings can be set in the configuration menu, while normal settings can be made in the settings menu.
